The Panch Pokhari Trek is a popular and less-traveled trekking route in Nepal’s Langtang region, named after the five sacred glacial lakes at an altitude of over 4,000 meters. The route starts from Chautara, accessible by road from Kathmandu, and follows a circular route through remote landscapes, passing through traditional villages, lush forests, and alpine meadows. The trek offers stunning views of surrounding Himalayan peaks and allows trekkers to immerse themselves in local culture. Accommodations are typically in teahouses or camping, as the region is less developed. The trek is moderate in difficulty, suitable for moderate fitness levels, but requires some steep ascents and descents. The best time to undertake the trek is during the post-monsoon season (September to November) or the pre-monsoon season (March to May), with clear weather and spectacular views. Winter treks may involve snow at higher elevations.
