Phoksundo Lake, located in Dolpo, Nepal, is a stunning tourist destination and sacred lake for Buddhist and Bon-po followers. The 11-day trek to the lake begins at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and continues to Nepalgunj, where the trail begins. The trail is a densely forested path with oaks, pines, and fir trees, offering stunning views of waterfalls. The route passes through traditional villages like Dunai, Chhepka, Jharana Hotel, and Shyanta. The lake is also rich in wildlife, including endangered species like musk deer, snow leopard, blue sheep, Tibetan sheep, and Himalayan tahr. A short stay at Phoksundo Lake is a serene experience, with a view of Kanjirowa Himal and visits to surrounding monasteries.
